Sapno ki Udaan

Career possibilities for government school students after Class 10 and Class 12.

US Udit Sharma Ludhiana, Punjab, India Since Dec 2024

Overview

Possibility

To align the government's commitment for the underprivileged section to ensure a rewarding and fulfilling career for them.

Purpose

Career possibilities for government school students after Class 10 and Class 12.

Problem or opportunity addressed

Students leaving government schools after Class 10 and Class 12 have very little information about the careers open to them.

Inspiration behind the project

During one of my visits to a government school on my birthday, I was overwhelmed by the kindness of the students and their intelligence, as a few of them made a greeting card for me at the moment, which I found to be special. Moreover, I was astonished by the potential these kids have. From that day, I decided to provide and contribute in the best way possible. This is where the idea of "Sapno ki Udaan" emerged.

Long-term vision

Taking it further by including more and more people who align with the vision of helping government school students. The project is not independent yet, but it is moving in that direction.

People around the project want to contribute to it.

Community views towards me have changed a lot. People around me are feeling touched, moved and inspired that they are able to contribute towards this good cause to help students for their bright future, even while doing their routine work.

The team now runs sessions without the founder.

Geetika guides students independently alongside other team members, and Chhaya Sharma handles the project as well. The work no longer depends on one person being present.
